Remaining steady amongst the onslaught
Deb Peacock
We’re in a big season leading up to significant change, God is bringing new and many are looking at or in the process of transition. It is wonderful to be moving forward with the Lord.
So it’s no surprise that there is an onslaught of opposition against the wonderful new change God is bringing for each person. People are being hit with accusation, put downs, criticism that is unfair and condemning judgements.
Perhaps you’re feeling afraid and anxious and wondering if you should pull out, back out or if you made the wrong decision. The short of it is no, you’re not wrong and yes, it’s true, God is with you and moving you forward with him and new is coming.
But how about this awful feeling of doubt and feeling unsteady and unstable day to day?
One of the key things to help with this is by getting the word of the Lord for you, his truth for you into you. God’s word is alive, it is active and so when it is inside us it does things to us. It grows and it changes us. It transforms us so that we actually change into what that word for us says. Our mind renews into alignment and we think according to that truth.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
But a big problem is many of us hear the truth but we don’t believe the truth. This means we don’t adopt this word as our own where we hold it, embrace and own it. Once God gives it to us, for us, it is ours and we are to own it.
This is why his word says to meditate on God’s promises and tie them around your neck. It isn’t enough to hear of it only. Hearing of it means it is still outside us and we need the truth as an anchor for our souls so it needs to be in us.
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Deuteronomy 6:8
It isn’t enough that God says you are called as a pioneer or as a teacher or as a speaker. God built us with free will so we can follow him where we do and say what he does. So we need to follow him, believe and take on and hold everything he says.
God’s opinion is the one that matters for you because his opinion is the only one that is 100% right and good. We need to then go further and agree with his opinion of us and decide we will believe it. This isn’t a quick thing. This is a slow burn of realising the depth of what the word actually means and we allow the living word to be in us, transforming us.
What and who does God say you are? What has he said about you? It’s time to believe this inside and get it in your heart so that when the outside voices come , you’ve already got your anchor of knowing who you are, set and locked in place.
Bless you
