Sabbath is the key to the door of wisdom

Deb Peacock

God has been speaking about releasing his supernatural gift of wisdom. This is the strategy that you require for extremely difficult situations that you are facing. Logically they are hopeless and you might burn out. You need a solution where there doesn’t seem to be one.  A supernatural answer needed.

To access this wisdom though and hear a solution that you could never have thought of on your own, you will need to be at rest. This is where you are at peace and operating with dependence and trust in the Lord. This is where the problem that is so difficult is not weighing on you heavily because you have let that weight go onto God’s shoulders. This is when we can sleep well at night despite the trouble going on around us in our lives.

So it makes sense that Satan’s strategy is to distract you and cause there to be many opportunities and requests for your attention. He attempts to keep you busy so you are not able to meet with the Lord and hand your burdens over to him. If Satan can keep you in the rat race you will stay on that treadmill just repeating the same every day without even seeing that there could be another way. Then you have missed the solution you need to breakthrough in the situation.

With opposition against us for resting we have to fight for it. Sabbath rest means we have a break from the burdens and responsibilities of life and we can do so because we can trust the Lord to look after it while we are resting and having fun instead. Sabbath causes us to realign ourselves, see that the world won’t stop when we exit to rest and recharge and see that we are human beings created with need for rest and a break, created to trust and depend on the Lord as our God.

So to access the wisdom we need, we focus on being in rest with the Lord. Then in that place of ease, and of restoration we are ready to receive the wisdom that we require for the situations that are seeming impossible. So instead of justifying why you can’t stop and why you have to do what you are doing, ask the Lord to help you with stopping and taking time to rest in him. The world does not depend on you but your solution is dependent on the Lord.  Find time to be with him, rest and the wisdom will come.

Blessings,
