We are entering the days of the new ways
Deb Peacock
You might have noticed that God is asking you to operate and do things in a new way. He might be speaking to you in the way he was and it might even feel like you can’t hear him well. He is calling you into the days of the new ways.
The new ways might feel clunky and so it is unsettling and you wonder if you got it wrong. The ways are not wrong, they are new and as you haven’t settled into the new normal of them yet, they feel a bit strange, awkward and clunky. Clunky doesn’t mean wrong, it means new.
If you are someone who likes things to be articulate, clear and well defined, you like to have the strategy all planned out, this season of change in new ways might be very unsettling. God is working with you differently and asking you to join in and do things differently too. Similarly though, if you know what it is like to flow with Holy Spirit where you do things empowered by him and there is a graceful beautiful flow, this season might be unsettling because there isn’t the same flow - there is clunky. Remember that God himself has not changed, but the ways ahead have.
The new ways will mean you have more capacity, you are more efficient and the output of energy required for the same activities is less!
The new ways mean you are prepared and ready for whatever comes at any time!
Jesus lived a life of prayer and fasting - he lived a life fully submitted to the Lord’s authority and lived very close to his father. He lived in the Lord, his father’s presence and care. This meant that wherever he went and whatever was in front of him to do, he was ready for. He lived FROM the Father’s presence, care and provision.
In this time of the new way it is imperative to spend time in the Lord’s presence, not seeking what he will do or say but seeking him. Just sitting with him and in the wonder and awe of who he is. How incredible that we can come and be in the presence of the living Almighty God! Jesus made this possible for us. Simply being with him and in his care and provision, coming near him means that we will be transformed and we will be permeated by his glorious goodness. It is his glory that will fill us, prepare us and equip us for what he calls us into ahead.
So don’t worry about the clunky, just say yes to everything the Lord suggests, dwell in his presence and continue to move forward with him this day.
Blessings,
