Are you taking the opportunities?
Deb Peacock
God often responds to our prayers by opening up opportunity. He is inviting us to have what we have prayed for. He offers it to us. Are you taking the opportunities as they come?
When we pray for relief or rest and he causes a change of circumstances that mean we have space in our calendar, are you taking rest or are you diving into the next thing on your to do list?
Recently, I prayed for God to help me get the rest I needed to prepare for an important event. In the next three days, there were multiple changes at work, opening up my calendar. I could have done several other things that needed to be done but Holy Spirit reminded me of my needs and that this was the opportunity provided to get rest. As I took the opportunities one by one as they arose, the rest seemed extra blessed and restorative for me.
When we pray for a new friendship and you are invited to meet with someone, are you saying yes or are you saying you are too busy with work?
When you pray for peace and God responds with quiet are you staying there and soaking that in, or are you rushing off into the chaos of the day?
When you pray for direction and someone you don’t respect at all speaks to you, do you block them or are you open to what they may offer?
He hears your prayers, he cares for your needs, he provides the opportunities and invites you in to better.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
