Waiting for the breakthrough

Deb Peacock

Breakthrough is coming because the Lord is releasing his power on earth, he is bringing healing and breakthrough. There are wonderful healing testimonies all around.

But what about in the wait? Are you waiting? Have you been waiting a long time? What is this wait?

The wait process is very important and yes it is hard work. It is meant to be. In the wait process we can get annoyed and angry with the Lord that we are waiting and we can’t have what we want and need right now. But we need to understand that the Lord is waiting for us. In Isaiah 64 it says you are the potter and I am the clay. The Lord is the creator God and he is also the one with the knowledge and power to restore us when we have been hurt, and broken.

When the potter is making something out of clay there is a critical part of the process where they wait for the clay to dry out. And not just dry out a little, but a lot, until it is bone dry. In a way, completely dead and void of all moisture. If this process is not completed the pottery clay will explode once it is put into the oven. The Lord is often waiting for us to be ready before taking us to the fire phase which leads us to breakthrough. He isn’t waiting in frustration like we do towards him, he is waiting in understanding of who we are as human beings and how long this process takes for us to be dried out from depending on our own strength and capabilities.

This is why it says in Isaiah 40 that those who wait on the lord will renew their strength - they will go back to getting their strength from where it should come from, the Lord. Those who wait will become dependent on the Lord for their strength and then they will soar.

Remember that in general you can not speed up this waiting process. But know that you can slow it down. So the pace is set by the Lord if we agree and humbly go along with it. Otherwise we can hinder it and make the waiting take longer. Our attitude of blame on the Lord that this is happening is a hindrance. He is waiting for us because he loves us and doesn’t want us to explode in the oven. Trust in the Lord’s timing and pray for help to become fully dependent on the Lord for strength to get you through.

Your future in his calling is to be sustainable and to do that you will need the infinite resource of the Lord’s strength, not the limited strength of your own.

Blessings,
