You can never be too dependent on God.
Deb Peacock
Sometimes because of what we experience in life in our relationships we come to believe we shouldn’t be too dependent on others. We shouldn’t be too needy. We can worry we are too much for people. We might think we are not strong like other people for having needs and we are too dependent. We attempt to rustle up some strength to go it alone, look after ourselves and not depend on others. We might have felt let down by someone who couldn’t hold us up any longer, reinforcing these beliefs that you are too much and too needy. You might even ask, “what’s wrong with me?”
But it is true we are made to lean - its just that we are to depend completely on God. He is the one who can hold us up and he is the one for that role in our lives. We can lean heavily, fully on him.
You are not too much, too needy, weak and below or not as good as others. You have needs, being made as a human and you were made to lean on God.
Cast all your cares on him, for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
