Feeling unsure about how you did? Did I do a good job? Ephesians 2:10
Deb Peacock
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Have you ever stepped out and done something that was big for you? It was a step up or out and required faith and trust? Have you then gone home and later on been plagued with thoughts of I hope I didn’t come across uncaring or that the people didn’t think I was judging them etc? This is for you.
One, thank God that this act does not define you or approve you because you are already approved and defined by God.
Two, remember who you work for. Is it for man? No. So who does it ultimately matter who is pleased? Your boss. God. He prepared those works for you and it’s says in Ephesians 2:10 they are good works. So when you obey his provision for you and trust him and do it - he is proud pleased and cheering you on. He says we’ll done. You did it! It was good because you are my child and it is a good work. Well done we’ll done.
So when those thoughts come remember whose you and who you work for. Listen to the Lord cheer you on and listen to him and what he says about it, not the thoughts that are coming and are all about people and you. Listen to Jesus for his opinion is what matters.
This is why when we feel insecure and people try to tell us it was good it is helpful but it doesn’t hit the mark. We know deep down it isn’t man we work for but God and so we need his opinion and his words on how we went. This is what will fill our heart and hit the spot.
You are approved and defined by God and the bold things you do are for him and not man. He is proud and he is cheering you on.
Blessings,
